Why we love air fryer cheesy garlic toast

We are totally obsessed with this recipe. It makes for an indulgent afternoon snack when you really need a quick  pick-me-up. This cheesy garlic toast is the best side dish to serve on pasta night or alongside a deliciously dip-able soup! It’s crunchy, garlicky, and cheesy – seriously the most delightful bite.

The best thing about this recipe is that you can make some easy variations that have a big impact on flavor. Here are some of our favorite ways to spice this up:

  • Try adding crushed red pepper for a little bit of a kick! The subtle heat from the crushed red pepper is a great addition to this recipe.
  • Fresh herbs are a must! We love parsley, oregano and basil the most to compliment these flavors.
  • Sliced tomatoes add a pop of color and flavor to this cheesy toast!

What equipment do you need to make air fryer cheesy garlic toast

To be honest, this recipe is super straightforward. You really only need two pieces of equipment to make it: an air fryer and a mortar and pestle. If you are missing one, or don’t have either, worry not! We will let you know how to adapt this recipe to what you have in your kitchen.

We love our air fryer. It uses convection air circulation to cook food quickly with a small amount of oil. Air fryer cooking is fast, easy, and low mess – it is such a great tool to have in the kitchen. If you don’t have an air fryer, you can totally still make this recipe. Pop the toasts on a baking sheet and throw them in the oven for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

We use a mortar and pestle to mix up the garlic butter we use for this recipe. A solid marble or stone mortar and pestle is a fun kitchen tool to have, but it’s not necessary. If you don’t have one,  you’ll just need a bowl and spoon or masher to grind the ingredients together.
