The short version: We show ads and earn affiliate commissions. We use analytics tools that measure how the site is used, including one that can record how a page was viewed. We only email you if you ask us to. You can opt out of ad tracking, and we explain how below.
As the owner of this website (the “Site”), Food Dolls (“we,” “us,” or “our”) understands that your privacy is important. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect from you through the Site, how we use and disclose it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. We collect information you choose to provide — for example, your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, your message when you use our contact form, and any information you include when you comment on a post or leave a recipe rating or review.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by us and by the third-party services described below. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring website, the pages you view, the links you click, how long you spend on a page, and general location inferred from your IP address.
Our Use of Cookies
A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies: a persistent cookie will be stored by a web browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date; a session cookie will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed. Cookies do not typically contain information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.
Cookies are used on this Site for the following purposes:
- Essential and security — including Cloudflare Turnstile, which we use to protect our forms and comments from spam and abuse. Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser information for this purpose. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Preferences — for example, remembering your name and email address so you don’t have to re-enter them the next time you leave a comment.
- Advertising — cookies set by Mediavine and its partners, and by Meta, as described below.
- Analytics — cookies used by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, as described below.

Analytics and Site Measurement
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our Site. Google Analytics gathers information by means of cookies and similar technologies, and is used to create reports about Site usage. Google’s privacy policy is available at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Microsoft Clarity. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our Site. Clarity captures information about your visit — including pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement — and may create a recording or heatmap of your visit so we can find broken pages, confusing layouts, and recipes that are hard to follow. Clarity is designed to mask sensitive text by default, and we do not intentionally capture information you type into forms. Embedded Content
Pages on this Site may include embedded content from social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited that platform directly, and those platforms may collect information about you according to their own privacy policies.
Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)
The following section is provided by Mediavine. References to the “Website” mean this Site.
The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.
First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.
The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:
- IP Address
- Operating System type
- Operating System version
- Device Type

- Email (in hashed form)
Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

Meta (Facebook) Pixel
We use the Meta Pixel, an analytics and advertising tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (“Meta”). The Meta Pixel uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your visit, including the pages you view, the links you click, your IP address, browser and device type, and general location.
We use this information to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, to understand how visitors use our Site, and to show you content and advertisements from Food Dolls on Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. This may include creating audiences of people who have visited our Site, and audiences of people who are similar to our visitors.
Advanced matching. If you provide information such as your email address on this Site, for example when you subscribe to our newsletter or leave a comment, the Meta Pixel may send a hashed version of that information to Meta. Hashing scrambles the information into a string of characters before it is sent, so Meta does not receive it in readable form. Meta uses it to match your activity to a Meta account and improve ad measurement. You can limit this using the controls described below.
Meta processes this information as described in its Privacy Policy. You can manage how Meta uses your information for advertising through your Meta Ad Preferences.
You may also opt out of interest-based advertising generally through the Digital Advertising Alliance or the Network Advertising Initiative. Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser will also limit this tracking, though it may affect how parts of the Site work.
Email and Newsletter
We collect your email address only if you voluntarily provide it — for example, when you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us.
We use your email address for the purpose for which you provided it, and to send you emails about Food Dolls, including new recipes and, occasionally, products or services we think you may be interested in. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email.
We do not sell or rent your email address. We share it with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the email platform we use to send our newsletter, which processes it on our behalf, and with service providers that help us operate the Site. Your email address may also be used in hashed (scrambled) form for advertising as described in the Mediavine section above.
Comments, Ratings, and Reviews
If you leave a comment, recipe rating, or review, we collect the content of your submission along with your IP address and, if you provide them, your name and email address. Your name and comment will be publicly visible; your email address will not. We use this information to display your comment, to reply to you, and to detect spam.
Affiliate Links and Commissions
Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This includes participation in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate networks such as Impact and LTK.
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may place a cookie on your device to attribute the purchase to us. Those companies collect and use information according to their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Purchases are completed on the retailer’s website, not on ours.
Purchases
We do not process payments on this Site. Cookbook and product purchases are completed on third-party retailer websites, which handle your payment information under their own privacy policies and security practices. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
Your US State Privacy Rights
Residents of California and certain other US states — including Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, and Virginia — have the following rights:
- To know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- To request deletion of your personal information
- To request correction of inaccurate personal information
- To obtain a portable copy of your personal information
- To opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising

Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (such as IP address, email address, and name if you provide it); internet or network activity (such as pages viewed and links clicked); commercial information (such as affiliate link clicks); geolocation inferred from IP address; and inferences drawn from this information for advertising purposes.
Sources: directly from you, and automatically from your device through the cookies and technologies described in this policy.
Recipients: our advertising and analytics providers, our email platform, and our hosting and security providers, as described throughout this policy.
Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of advertising and analytics cookies and pixels — including those used by Mediavine and Meta — may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law and similar laws in other states.
How to exercise your rights. You may opt out of interest-based advertising using the Mediavine, Meta, DAA, and NAI controls described in this policy, or by blocking and deleting cookies in your browser. For any request — to know, delete, correct, or opt out — email us at info@fooddolls.com. For an opt-out request, please use the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.”
We will respond within 45 days. We will not require you to verify your identity in order to opt out of sale or sharing. For requests to know, delete, or correct, we may need to verify your identity before completing your request, to make sure we don’t give your information to someone else. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Browser signals. Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, and we do not currently respond to them. You can control interest-based advertising using the tools described throughout this policy.
Additional Rights of EEA and UK Residents
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Restrict or object to further processing of your personal data, including for direct marketing
- Request a portable copy of your personal data
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence
Legal bases. We process personal data on the following legal bases: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time; performance of our agreement to provide services you request, such as our newsletter; and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site and in promoting our content.
International transfers. We are based in the United States, and the information described in this policy is processed and stored in the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.
If you believe that our processing of your personal information infringes data protection laws, you have a legal right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority responsible for data protection. You may do so in the EU member state of your residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.

Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@fooddolls.com and we will delete it.
Data Retention and Security
We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. If you unsubscribe from our newsletter, we retain your email address on a suppression list so that we do not email you again. Comments, ratings, and reviews are retained indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Sale of Business or Assets
In the event that the Site or substantially all of its assets is sold or disposed of as a going concern, whether by merger, sale of assets, or otherwise, or in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, the information we have collected about you may be one of the assets sold or merged in connection with that transaction.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most recent version will always be posted on the Site, with the Effective Date at the top. We may revise and update this Privacy Policy if our practices change, as technology changes, or as we add new services or change existing ones.
If we make material changes to how we handle your personal information, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to review the change. If you continue to use the Site after the Effective Date, the then-current version of this policy will apply to your use of the Site.
