Servings: 12 servings
- 1 whole chicken about 3-4 lbs
- 1 small onion peeled (for stuffing the chicken)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
Seasoning Mix:
In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, and olive oil.
Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin and around the cavity where the onion is stuffed.
Flip and Continue Cooking:
After 30 minutes, carefully flip the chicken breast-side up and continue cooking for another 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165° F at the thickest part of the breast and thighs.
Rest:
Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving. The onion inside will infuse the chicken with extra flavor while it cooks.
Enjoy the perfectly seasoned, crispy skin and juicy chicken, complemented by the aromatic onion inside!
