Ground Beef Puff Pastry with Hummus

- 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon ground coriander
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup hummus
- 2 Tablespoons pine nuts toasted
- Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
- Olive oil for drizzling
Prepare the Puff Pastry
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place the puff pastry sheet on a lined baking sheet.

Cut slits about ½ inch from the edges, forming a square frame (don’t cut all the way through).
Prick the center area with a fork to prevent puffing.
Brush the entire pastry with the beaten egg.

Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
Make the Beef Mixture
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.

Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned.

Cook 2–3 more minutes.
Assemble
Press down the center of the baked puff pastry slightly.
Spread hummus evenly in the center.
