Ingredients

  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons black sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Butter a large baking pan.
  • Place a sheet of phyllo dough on a clean work surface near the baking pan. Scrunch the phyllo together across the wide side so that it bunches up and resembles a pleated surface.

  • Carefully lift the scrunched phyllo dough and place it along the short side of the baking pan.
  • Bake the phyllo dough for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, remove the baking pan from the oven, and drizzle melted butter over the baked phyllo dough. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

  • In a bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients except the sesame seeds.

  • Pour the mixture over the baked phyllo dough in the baking pan.
  • Sprinkle black sesame seeds over the top.

  • Bake until golden brown, about 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, cool slightly, and cut into pieces. The pie will have a pleated appearance.
