Ingredients

  • 1 loaf challah bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Slice the challah bread. We like to do 3/4 inch slices.
    1 loaf challah bread
  • In a small bowl or large measuring cup, add eggs, milk, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla.
4 large eggs, 1 cup whole milk, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, pinch of salt, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Whisk it all together. Pour the egg wash into the bottom of a non-stick 13x9 baking sheet.
  • Place each slice onto the egg wash. Allow it to sit for a couple minutes to absorb the liquid, then flip each slice.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar on top of the french toast slices.
    1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • Bake for 11-12 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup, fruit and whipped cream!
