Slow Cooker Spicy Garlic Confit

If you love garlic, you have to try this easy confit recipe. Throw garlic, herbs, hot chili peppers, some honey, and olive oil. It's perfect to add to recipes or just on toasted bread!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb peeled garlic found the large 3 lb bag at Costco
  • 3 dried chili peppers
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 spring fresh rosemary
  • 1 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes more or less to taste
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cups extra virgin olive oil (or just enough to cover the garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  •  

Instructions

  • Add garlic, chili peppers, red pepper flakes, honey, olive oil, and salt to the slow cooker.
  • Give everything a gentle mix. Add herbs and cover.
  • Cook on high for 3-3.5 hours, or until garlic is tender. 
  • Cool completely and store in an airtight container and refrigerate.
