Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts pounded thin
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt more or less to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper more or less to taste
  • 3 teaspoons oregano
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • Optional Toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, fresh basil
  • 3 tomato slices
  • 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In an 11x7 oval baking dish, add the chicken breast. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and oregano.

  • Spread 2 Tablespoons marinara sauce on top of each piece of chicken. Layer optional toppings on top, if using. Add the fresh Mozzarella.
    1/2 cup marinara sauce, 3 tomato slices, Optional Toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, fresh basil, 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. (See notes)

Notes

For faster cooking chicken, butterfly the breasts, and use a meat mallet to pound them thin.
