Hot Chocolate Donut Bake


2 cups whole milk, or milk of choice

1/2 cup half and half or heavy cream

4 whole eggs

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp kosher salt

4-6 glazed or sugar raised donuts, depending on size (Best if they are one day old)

1 cup mini marshmallows

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


In a large bowl combine the milk, half and half, eggs, cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk until fully combined.

Split the donuts in half. Place bottom half of donuts in a 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish. Pour half of the egg mixture over the donuts. Top with marshmallows, chocolate chips and the top half of the donuts. Pour remaining egg mixture over the donuts. Cover and refrigerate over night.  Keep covered and bake at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for a remaining 10 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serve with powdered sugar or a dollop of whip cream.
